Join us for bold new event that puts Manchester’s trail blazing women firmly in the spotlight. Northern Grit, Sporting Glory brings together Olympic and Paralympic Stars, business leaders and change makers to celebrate success, spark investment and show the world how Greater Manchester does women’s Sport: with heart, grit and purpose.
The new event will be hosted by BBC radio Manchester’s Stacey Copeland and feature Olympic gold medallist Keely Hodgkinson MBE, former Lioness Steph Houghton MBE, Olympic basketball Player Dominique Allen and many others to be confirmed.
You’ll also be joined by decision-makers and champions for change including Leader of Manchester City Council, Cllr Bev Craig, and Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham.
There will be honest conversations about the power and potential of Womens Sport, athlete experiences, and what it means to truly invest in women and girls from the park to the podium. All proceeds from the event go to our amazing Greater Manchester Women’s Sports Foundations.
With three dynamic panels, an auction, exclusive video features and a room full of change-makers, Northern Grit, Sporting Glory is more than an event- it’s a statement and this is just the beginning.

- Panel Sponsor: £5,000 – Includes company references in any mention of the event, company name and logo in the event’s publicity, full-page programme advert, one table of ten at the event, and post-event engagement opportunities.

Manchester City Council is proud to announce Manchester Airports Group and RBC Brewin Dolphin as headline sponsors for the inaugural Northern Grit, Sporting Glory event, taking place on Sunday 9 November 2025 at the Kimpton Hotel Manchester.
This landmark celebration will shine a spotlight on Greater Manchester’s trailblazing women and girls in sport, bringing together Olympic and Paralympic champions, business leaders, and changemakers for an evening of inspiration, investment, and impact.
Hosted by BBC Radio Manchester’s Stacey Copeland, the event will feature appearances from Keely Hodgkinson MBE, Steph Houghton MBE, Dominique Allen, and many more.
