Swimming

Swimming is for everyone, no matter age, experience, or ability. You can start as a beginner in a friendly pool or challenge yourself at a training center.

We offer special support for people with disabilities and those recovering from injuries. Coaches across the city will help you learn safe swimming and improve your skills. Swimming builds strength, helps you relax, and is gentle on your joints. You’ll also meet others who like to be active.

In Manchester, swimming is more than exercise, it’s a way to be healthy and feel part of a community. Try a class or visit a pool. Your swimming journey can start today.

During any school holidays, Manchester 16 or under’s can swim for free during designated public ‘Swim for All’ sessions and at weekends during term time, and Manchester 60 or over’s can continue to swim for free during any designated public general swim session, anytime.
