Canadian Victoria Mboku Wins Fourth Itf Title in a Row at Lexus British Pro Series Manchester
18-year-old Canadian Victoria Mboku continued her extraordinary run of form on the ITF Tour as she claimed her fourth singles title in a row at the Lexus British Pro Series Manchester.
Second seed Mboku, who has now risen more than 160 places in the WTA rankings thanks to her impressive start to 2025. The teenager swept aside the competition on her run to the singles crown, not dropping a set all week on her way to the final against top seed Manon Leonard.
Despite enjoying a strong week herself, including defeating British tennis players Brooke Black and Emily Appleton, Leonard was unable to stop Mboku who went on to seal a comfortable win 7-6(0), 6-2.
Speaking after the final, Mboku said, “Going into this tournament, I knew I was going to be playing a lot of tough players, and I guess I’m one of the younger players, so I knew had to bring my level up this week.
“I’m happy I was able to compete with these girls and play well to get the title, it’s been a really great week.”
In the doubles draw, Canadian, American duo Ariane Arseneault and Anna Rogers lived up to their billing as top seeds – defeating the Polish second seeds Weronika Falkowska and Martyna Kubka 6-7(5), 6-1, 10-8.#
Along the way, they had to navigate a tricky tie against two British prospects in Mika Stojsavljevic and Black in the semi-finals. At just 16 and 17 years old respectively, the pair defeated the third seeds in the quarter finals, and ran Arseneault and Rogers close in their semi-final, just losing out 6-4, 6-4.
Following their victory, Arsenault said, “It was a really hard road to get to the final, playing two tough matches before this. It was a really competitive final, really fun, and it was great to have ball kids there, just a great experience.”
Speaking after the even, Tournament Director Kerry Smith, added, “It was fantastic to be able to bring a professional women’s tournament to the city of Manchester. As a result we have developed a positive relationship with Manchester Active and the bid to bring high profile sporting entertainment to the Etihad Campus, with players benefiting from six newly refurbished quality indoor tennis courts.
“It was a pleasure to welcome the Lord Mayor of Manchester to present the doubles trophy and to have so many members of the local community supporting the singles finals on Saturday. Congratulations to all involved in making this event a success.”

International tournaments such as the Lexus GB Pro Series Manchester are part of the LTA’s Performance Competitions Calendar (PCC) which provides significantly enhanced opportunities for British players at each age and stage of the performance player pathway on home soil. The calendar is designed to provide comprehensive opportunities for British players to play, earn ranking points and win prize money at home, throughout the year.
